About OBRA
Obra is a contemporary art and design studio dedicated to original expression, craftsmanship, and sustainable creativity.
Founded on the idea that art should exist both on walls and in everyday life, Obra creates original contemporary paintings, reimagined garments, and custom commissioned works. Each piece is designed to be unique — not mass-produced — reflecting a commitment to individuality, artistry, and thoughtful design.
The studio’s paintings explore modern visual language through color, texture, and form, producing works that are both expressive and collectible. Alongside the artwork, Obra transforms pre-existing garments into new creations, giving materials a second life through upcycling and creative reconstruction.
Obra also offers commissioned work, collaborating with collectors and clients to create pieces that are personal, distinctive, and tailored to their vision. Whether it is a custom painting, a redesigned garment, or a unique concept piece, every project is approached with the same attention to detail and artistic integrity.
At its core, Obra is about making meaningful objects — art that is lived with, worn, and experienced.
Original. Intentional. Made to last.

PORSCHA
Founder / Artist
Obra is founded and led by Porscha Ryder, a 28-year-old emerging trans woman artist from the Philippines now based in Australia. Working across contemporary painting and garment reconstruction, her practice explores creativity through material transformation, identity, personal narrative, and visual expression.
Through her studio, Obra, Ryder produces original paintings and upcycled garments as one-of-a-kind works, treating both canvas and clothing as surfaces for artistic exploration. Her process often begins with existing materials that are altered, reconstructed, and reimagined into new forms that carry both artistic intention and renewed life.
Alongside independent collections, Porscha also offers commissioned work, collaborating with clients to create custom paintings or reconstructed garments that reflect individual ideas and personal stories.
Beyond her visual art practice, Ryder is an aspiring fashion designer with the ambition of becoming part of the fashion industry. She is also pursuing work as a runway and editorial model, bringing her creative perspective into the worlds of fashion, performance, and visual storytelling.
By combining painting, garment reconstruction, and fashion, Ryder’s work moves fluidly between art and wearable design. Through Obra, she brings together art, craftsmanship, and sustainability — creating pieces designed not only to be viewed, but also to be lived with and worn.
